$7500 Tax Rebate For First Time Home Buyers

Great news for first time home buyers.  The 2008 Housing and Economic Recovery Act approved this past week by President Bush includes a provision for a tax credit for first time home buyers.  This will actually be a credit, and not just a deduction, which will lower your tax bill dollar for dollar for up to $7500.  In order to qualify for the credit, you must be a first time home buyer (or not have owned a home during the past three years), earn less than $75,000 if single or $150,000 if married, and purchase a home as your primary residence between April 2008 and June 2009.

For more information about this credit, or to start your home search, check out our website with plenty of great resources including new home notification and ability to search the MLS at www.4saleokc.com

I took this credit; the inclusive dates are between 1 Apr 08 to 1 Jul 09.  You have to agree to pay the rebate back over time, $500.00 a year starting in 2010.  Not a bad deal really, can be used for several great additions to your new home; I'm adding it to my down payment.
